Michelle Hunt, BSPH ? Founder & Executive Director
Michelle Hunt is a seasoned community health clinician and public health advocate with over a decade of experience serving Georgia’s most vulnerable populations. A graduate of Georgia
Southern University with a bachelor’s in Public Health (Class of 2018), Michelle brings both medical field experience and public health strategy to her leadership.
As the founder of Healthchex Cares, she has pioneered Georgia’s #1 Emergency Food Relief Program, delivering walk-up access to food, hygiene, and baby essentials without ID, forms, or judgment. Her leadership style blends frontline compassion with strategic coordination. Her background as a certified medical professional, caregiver, and operational director informs her approach.
Michelle’s work is rooted in the belief that no one should have to choose between health and hunger and that relief should be fast, dignified, and free of red tape.
Dr. Douglas Geiger, M.D., MBA, Director of Community Health Outreach
Dr. Douglas Geiger is a board-certified physician and pastor with over 25 years of experience in emergency medicine, primary care, and community health.
He earned his medical degree from Emory University in 1991, where he graduated in the top third of his class, and completed his surgical residency at Howard University-Affiliated Hospitals. He was named Neurosurgical Resident
of the Year in 1992.
